The original, "traditional" version of marriage involved a man bartering off his daughter to the man who could offer the best "price" for her, usually in the form of farm animals. None of the previous redefinitions have led to world-wide calamity, so what makes you think that this particular redefinition (meaning redefining it in order to include gay people) would be so wrong?

so its not really about equal rights, its just “why can’t we change what marriage means again?” I am fine as long as the positions are clear. This foolishness about equal rights and painting others as bigots when they don’t agree with your “why can’t we change what marriage means again?”, should be done away with. My issue is really that. The debate can continue respectfully if all are clear on their reasons.
